Family, friends, and colleagues who follow me on Twitter or Facebook have already seen the advance review copy version of the cover for my poetry collection, Arthurian Things, which goes on presale at World of Myth Magazine on January 24, and will be available “in the wild” on February 4. For everyone else, here it is:
I have been DYING to share this cover art with you for months! The artistic style both of the cover and of the interior illustrations very much complements the poems themselves, which are whimsical, sometimes comic and sometimes dark, a little fantasy and a little reality, a little traditional and a little modern, all blended together.
The cover and interior art for this book are all the more special to me because the artist is none other than my eldest daughter. I couldn’t possibly have found an artist better-suited to illustrate this particular book; I wanted a sort of graphic, comic-strip style with a touch of whimsy informed but not dictated by artistic technique, and she nailed it.
I’m really looking forward to the book release and seeing what readers think of it!
This is wonderul, and positively inspiring! Thanks for letting us know.
Thank you so much!
